Reading that learns with you
RealHSK keeps track of the words you know as you read. Every story is matched to your level, and your reading doubles as your review.
Know before you start
Every story shows how much of it you already know, for example “You know ~93% · 2 new words · Stretch”. Pick an Easy story to build speed, one that’s Just right for steady progress, or a Stretch to grow.
Pinyin where you need it
In Smart mode, pinyin disappears from words you already know and stays on the rest. You can switch to All or Off at any time.
Every tap counts
Finishing a story, looking up a word, replaying its audio and answering practice questions all update what RealHSK knows about you. No separate flashcard grind.
It remembers what you forget
Memory fades, so RealHSK uses spaced-repetition science (FSRS) to track when each word needs another look.

Tap any word to see its status: New to you, Learning, Probably known or Known.

Sign in and your progress syncs across every device. No account needed to start: your progress stays in your browser.
Built on HSK 3.0
Stories are graded against the HSK 3.0 syllabus: its vocabulary, grammar, topics and characters. Your estimates start from what a learner at your level is expected to know, then adjust to you with every story you read. Our methodology
