These expressions locate responsibility on someone, reveal a surprising discovery, reproach bad timing or highlight an intense resulting state. Their social force can be strong. Learners should first recognize them in context before using them freely.

An issue reaching someone personally

X到Y头上来了 says blame, trouble or an action has reached or targeted a person.

责任怎么落到我头上来了？

Zé rèn zěn me luò dào wǒ tóu shàng lái le?

How did the responsibility end up falling on me?

Pitfall: 头上 is metaphorical in this use, not a literal bodily location.

不X不…，一X…

A sharp discovery upon acting

不X不…，一X… contrasts lack of awareness before acting with a strong discovery afterward.

不看不知道，一看吓一跳。

Bù kàn bù zhī dao, yī kàn xià yī tiào.

You wouldn't know without looking; one look is a shock.

Pitfall: This is a conventional emphatic frame, not a universal logical law.

好你个X

Emphatic address

好你个X directly addresses someone with reproach or teasing admiration, depending on context.

好你个小王，原来是你！

Hǎo nǐ gè xiǎo wáng, yuán lái shì nǐ!

Well, Xiao Wang, so it was you!

Pitfall: Avoid this with strangers as a neutral greeting.

早不来

Bad timing

早不X，晚不X emphasizes that an action happened at a particularly inconvenient moment.

早不来，晚不来，偏偏这时候来。

Zǎo bù lái, wǎn bù lái, piān piān zhè shí hou lái.

Of all times to come, you chose this moment.

Pitfall: The phrase evaluates timing rather than simply reporting absence in morning and evening.

瞧把你急得

Look at the resulting state

看/瞧+把+person+predicate+得 highlights an affected person's strong state, often with an understood result.

瞧把你急得，话都说不清了。

Qiáo bǎ nǐ jí de, huà dōu shuō bù qīng le.

Look how anxious you are—you can hardly speak clearly.

Pitfall: This expressive construction differs from ordinary subject+把+object disposal.
