  1. Formal word formation and precise referencePrefix-like and suffix-like elements form families of words, but productivity is limited by conventional usage. 人家 requires discourse context, and classifiers such as 卷 carry reading distinctions. Treat lexical formation and syntactic function as related but separate questions.5 grammar points
  2. Subtle stance and frequencyThese adverbs distinguish majority from totality, recurrence from continuity, involuntary reaction from deliberate effort and doubt from denial. Prior expectations give 明明、倒是 and 总算 much of their force.7 grammar points
  3. Formal framing and conversational particles于 and 因 provide compact written frames; 至于 changes topic; 所 helps form a written nominal modifier. 啦、嘛 and 也好 instead manage conversational stance and alternatives. Register is part of the lesson, not an optional extra.8 grammar points
  4. Idiomatic repetition and limitsRepeated forms distribute actions or depict extensive thought, while 好不容易 signals an achieved result after effort. 算了 and 得了 manage the conversation; 到…为止 defines a boundary. Do not infer meanings by counting repeated characters or negatives.9 grammar points
  5. Personal consequences and emphatic reactionsThese expressions locate responsibility on someone, reveal a surprising discovery, reproach bad timing or highlight an intense resulting state. Their social force can be strong. Learners should first recognize them in context before using them freely.5 grammar points
  6. Acceptance, frustration and boundariesSpoken frames can criticize an unused opportunity, accept an accomplished fact, reject every option or separate domains. The same literal words may sound playful or sharp. Use the surrounding dialogue to decide how a character feels.5 grammar points
  7. Extreme results and unusual causes透 expresses a thorough result or extreme degree. In advanced 把 sentences, a nonhuman situation can be the cause and the affected person can also perform the action. Follow semantic roles rather than assuming subject equals intentional agent.3 grammar points
  8. Alternation, choice and universal claims一时 alternates states, 要么 selects alternatives, 虽 concedes a point, and 凡是 universally quantifies those meeting a condition. Each construction establishes a different relationship; do not treat them as decorative connecting words.4 grammar points
  9. Exceptions, concessions and purpose除非 isolates a necessary exception; with 否则 the second clause describes the default when that exception fails. 就算 maintains a result despite a condition; 以便 states an enabling purpose. Check the logic by imagining the condition both true and false.4 grammar points
